User Forums

User Forums are a form of self help group for people with mental health problems. Members can invite a range of speakers from mental health and other human service agencies, to learn about their rights. Forums also can comment as a group on local services and influence those services. Members of forums supported by the Network have representatives on the Network's management committee and on groups and teams planning local mental health services.

The Heart Of The Matter

This group is a forum which involves users or ex-users of mental health services that are not necessarily connected with hospital sites. They meet twice a month in Gravesend on Wednesday evenings. Free transport is provided to and from home.
The group has talks from a wide variety of guests involved in providing services for people with mental health problems. The group has lobbied for better services e.g.a 24 hour crisis service, and is consulted on plans for service developments in mental health. Contact the Forum Development Worker on 01322 285234 for further details.
